Isabel Lucas won’t work with Elissa Sursara

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen” star Isabel Lucas has reportedly stepped down from a pending animal rights documentary, “Rights Revoked“, featuring actress and former BFF Elissa Sursara.

Lucas, who travelled to Japan this year to protest the slaughter of whales and dolphin, claims there will certainly be a tension between the one-time friends, “Particularly if we are filming things that may trigger anger and other messy emotions,” but maintains the friendship naturally ended.

Sursara, who is well known among animal rights organizations for her behind the scenes approach to animal welfare campaigning, pulled out of several film deals from 2007 to 2008 to spend quality time with her family after news of a terminally ill member. The actress is currently back in LA working on her career.

But the former friends, who even lived together in Sursara’s Los Angeles apartment have “grown apart” and according to Lucas, “There is no fight, nothing happened. But over time you lose touch and we lost touch.”

While the amicable friendship split remains undramatic, the documentary itself is said to be anything but. Animal friendly cable channel Animal Planet voiced their interest in the charitable documentary, which has thus been financed by donation.

Lucas awaits the release of “DayBreakers“, a vampire flick, set for release in January of next year, starring Willem DaFoe and Ethan Hawke.
